PTA - The "Itchen Abbas Parents"

Who are we?
If you have a child who attends Itchen Abbas Primary, we consider you a member of the Itchen Abbas Parents (or IAP for short). This is our Parent Teachers Association. It is also a registered charity, which allows us to apply for grants and organise fundraising within the community. Last year we were raising money for the new climbing frame and made a £9,300 contribution which is simply amazing!
This year we are raising money for Outdoor Learning, updating and purchasing new technology and the Early Years outdoor space.
As a small school, families of children attending the school play an important role and alongside the teaching team and others in the community make it such a special place for our children.
Below is the list of our committee members and class representatives for the year ahead. All of these are voluntary positions, and we will be doing our bit to organise things throughout the year. However, it’s a small school and every pair of hands is needed. Look out for organising groups on WhatsApp for big events like the Christmas and Summer fair.
This year each class will also have an event to run:
Hedgehogs – Movie Night
Otters – School Disco
Foxes – The Itchen Family Quiz

How can I get involved?
- Come along to the meetings. We would love to see you and discuss ideas. Our meetings are informal and everyone is welcome.
- Help out at an event. You can help to set up, run a stall, tidy up or help with publicity etc.
- Bake cakes for the Cake Sale when it’s your class’s turn
- Do a sponsored event.
- Attend events and bring all your family and friends!
- Share your ideas.
We are also looking for people to run the After-school community café. If you can help with this - again please get in touch.
All our meetings are open, and we’d love you to join us – if you can’t make the meeting come and talk to us and we’ll share what’s going on.
We are always here for general support and guidance. Feel free to approach us at the school gates with any questions or email us: hello@itchenabbasparents.org.uk
